Bonding and White Fillings

Bonding or filling with white composite resin is a method of correcting cavities and cosmetic issues such as cracks, gaps, and stained or discolored teeth. Applying the resin is safe, minimally invasive, and inexpensive, and can be completed in just one office visit.

Bonding

Bonding is a good option for patients who wish to correct cosmetic issues and who otherwise have healthy teeth. During your visit, we will shape and mold a white composite resin onto your existing teeth over an adhesive gel. After application of the resin, an ultraviolet light hardens the material, which is then polished until it appears natural. One treatment usually lasts more than ten years.

Filling

White composite fillings for small and mid-size cavities are more attractive than silver amalgam fillings, so many patients choose this material when they need a cavity treated. Composites are durable and natural-looking, but they do cost more than silver amalgam and take longer to apply.
